I recently spent a glorious weekend in Paneria, a visit only made possible by being able to helicopter from Cattania to the island. What a marvellous service Air Paneria provide, friendly and efficient, and really the only way to travel to your lovely island. I doubt whether I would have had the time to visit Paneria if were not for this friendly service. I am from the UK where as a someone concerned about the status of raptors, I am a member of the Hawk and Owl Trust. I have heard that some feel the helicopters flying to and from the little heliport are endangering the habitat of the resident falcons. From my experience, the time the aircraft is in Paneria's airspace is minimal. Great care seems to be taken by the pilot to approach the island over water, turning to land at the last moment. Equally departing the pilot immediately heads for the open water water before setting course for Cattania. I don't think the flights could possibly disturb local bird life. I do hope Air Paneria's service continues.

Di recente ho trascorso uno splendido weekend a Panarea, reso possibile solo grazie al servizio di collegamento in elicottero dall'aeroporto di Catania all'isola.
Air Panarea fornisce uno splendido servizio, confortevole ed efficiente, il solo modo per raggiungere velocemente la vostra isoletta. Non avrei avuto altra opportunità di visitare Panarea senza questo comodo collegamento, in così breve tempo.
Vengo dal Regno Unito in qualità di studioso di rapaci, membro del Centro Studi su Falchi e Gufi.
Avevo avuto sentore del fatto che i voli in elicottero stessero mettendo in pericolo l'habitat naturale del falcone stanziale. Ho potuto verificare invece che il tempo di volo nello spazio aereo di Panarea è ridotto al minimo.
Il pilota mostra di fare molta attenzione nel sorvolare la superficie marina e avvicinarsi alla parte emersa dell'isola, virando dal mare verso la terra solo nei minuti finali.
Alla stessa maniera, durante il decollo, il pilota punta subito verso il mare aperto, prima di iniziare la corsa verso l'aeroporto di Catania.
Non credo possibile che questi voli possano disturbare il sistema di vita dei volatili locali e spero anzi che il servizio di Air Panarea continui.
